28 Ground Electronics Maintenance
Marine Corps OccFld 28 covers the ground-electronics maintenance community that keeps specialized communications and electronics systems working. It is one of the clearer technical maintenance lanes in the Corps.
This field fits Marines who like diagnostics, testing, patient troubleshooting, and the idea of supporting operational units through technical competence instead of pure administration.
The field is broad enough to cover communications-adjacent and artillery-electronics work, but the unifying theme is maintenance of systems that other Marines need to trust. That makes accuracy and repeatable technical habits central to the job. It is also one of the more logical fields to compare with warrant and LDO routes later in a Marine’s career.
